Video Surveillance

RECRO-NET technical protection solutions include an integrated design of high quality video surveillance systems on the current IP infrastructure of our Customers, and their integration into the current systems.

Subsequent to pilot project testing in 2009, the solutions will also include access control based on the same infrastructure.

Need

There is a need for digital video surveillance due to a broad range of requirements this system could fulfill. The only remaining issue is its efficiency which is growing with the number of services provided by this system or the services that will be provided in the future with smaller additional investments.

Video surveillance can perform a variety of functions, from general surveillance, automated personnel detection and alarming to identification of tables and data referral to any location with the Internet access or to several surveillance centers with a large number of monitors. Additionally, the current camera “intelligence” will be upgraded due to technological development and provided with advanced video analysis technology.

It is no wonder that video surveillance is used in a variety of segments of human life, e.g.:

Traffic surveillance – identification of road or garage/building access road congestions

Traffic accidents records – alarming of persons in charge, subsequent sample analysis and event chronology

Industrial process surveillance – processes in chemical industry, visual control of disconnected industrial plants

Passenger embarkation/disembarkation and freight loading/unloading – elimination of common accident causation, identification of freight misloading, automated registration labels and commodity container label scanning

Crime prevention – car park and protection, identification of asocial behavior, timely alarming, psychological effect, building or warehouse entrance control

Crime records – subsequent analysis of weak surveillance points and prevention against future criminal activities

Solution

Video surveillance provides simultaneous monitoring of discrete events in time and space with a smaller number of staff and from remote locations. Digital video surveillance with additional video analysis technology reduces staff fatigue, reduces response time and increases the size of the area supervised by the same number of staff.

The solution is comprised of Cisco cameras, cameras of the third provider (Sony, Panasonic, Bosh, Pelco, Axis, IQview…) or analogue cameras as sources of video recording;

Central system for video storing, processing and distributing, and if required data protection with encryption and other security mechanisms configured by certified RECRO-NET staff;

And a variety of other applications for special purposes, which raise the system “intelligence” with additional image and video analyses.

From the technical side, it is important to single out a few specific features of our solution: central recording and management system based on the SuSE Linux operating system, which involves a truly scalable storage system in the form of disc farms amounting to 420TB; another important feature that is unavailable in similar systems in the market is a theoretically unlimited number of video displays on monitors due to Virtual Matrix application which cooperates with other video surveillance Cisco applications. 

Requirements

There are not any essential requirements. The current computer network with unused capacities can facilitate and simplify installation, or laid and unused copper (UTP, STP, FTP) and fiber optic (multi-mode and single-mode) cables.

PoE (Power over Ethernet) network switches as used in VoIP technology can also simplify the issue of power supply.
